The NHL will present its first outdoor game of the 2023-2024 season in Edmonton on Sunday as part of the heritage classic between the Oilers and Flames.
In recent days, many workers have been busy preparing a temporary ice rink at Commonwealth Stadium.
This will be the NHL’s 37th outdoor game, the first of four this season.
In that case, the Oilers may be without the services of captain Connor McDavid, who is suffering from an upper-body injury.
