A week after the serious injury of Provence Rugby player Thomas Salles (cruciate ligament rupture in the right knee), Aix leaders worked to find a medical replacement as soon as possible. And they set their sights on Mathias Colombet (Paloise Division).
The 26-year-old Pau winger (Top 14) will sign his loan contract until the end of the season this Thursday morning. Originally from Aire-sur-l’Adour, Colombet completed his education at the Béarnais club and then progressed to rugby 7 with the French team and Supersevens under the colors of Pau. In August 2021, he beat Racing (26-24) in Maurice-David’s synthetic race to become the French champion in 7th place, and last week he still failed in the final against Baabaas at the Nanterre Arena.
Mathias Colombet has not played a single minute in the Top 14 this season.
