The centre, which is open to guests of both Ashford Castle and The Lodge at Ashford Castle, will open to the public in the coming months.
Éalú, meaning ‘Escape’, features a pavilion-style building with large floor-to-ceiling windows, a fifteen-metre swimming pool with gym, functional fitness studio and therapy room.
The new dynamic space was created to offer guests a place where they can feel energized, refreshed and revitalized, while also offering many opportunities for family fun at the pool.
Created to nurture the relationship between people and nature, the building’s new Biophilic design seamlessly brings the outside in, combining natural light with Ireland’s stunning western landscape.
The light-filled pool area is complemented by relaxation loungers, a jacuzzi, a steam room with essences and a Klafs sauna made of exclusive Swiss stone pine wood, as well as a separate children’s pool.
Experienced instructors are available in the gym, functional fitness studio, and therapy room to help you tailor the activity to your personal goals to help you sweat, stretch, or simply stay still.
At the gym, state-of-the-art fitness equipment from the renowned ‘Life Fitness’ brand includes treadmills, cross trainers, upright and horizontal bikes and rowing machines, all paired with premium entertainment and performance consoles to help you elevate your performance.
The free weight section features dumbbells, benches, and fixed weight machines for upper and lower body workouts.
The Halo app provides access to personal training planning as well as on-demand workouts for all fitness levels, including live and recorded interactive classes.
In the therapy suite, a personalized holistic massage is provided according to the needs of the body and mind. Diamond Well Living Collection of Forbes’ well-known brand Natura Bisse is used.
Ashford Estate Managing Director Niall Rochford said Éalú will mean so much to so many people as it is a place where guests can exercise, relax or spend time with family and friends.
“While Ashford Estate has many activities for guests to enjoy, we had always planned for a full-size pool.
“This was our starting point for Éalú; the concept evolving and growing with our passion, resulting in so much more.
“Éalú is different. This is a space that radiates energy and we think guests of both properties will love it.
“The development is part of our owners, the Red Carnation Hotel,’s ongoing investment in the land and wider commitment to tourism in the West of Ireland.
“The new development follows an investment of millions of euros and we are delighted to welcome an additional ten team members to the property who will help ensure Éalú is recognized as one of the best hotel health and fitness centers in the country,” he said. Mr Rochford.
Guests of Ashford Castle and The Lodge at Ashford Castle have exclusive access to Éalú throughout their stay, easily accessible from both properties.
Opening hours are from 08:00 to 20:00 every day, and adults-only hours are reserved for the pool every morning and evening.
Éalú membership will open to the public in the coming months, and the fitness studio will offer a range of private classes, including yoga and interval training, with qualified instructors.
