This is one of the features of the Magnus League: mainly for economic reasons (hockey clubs depend heavily on match revenues), there are 44 “normal” matches in the season; play-offs (for title) or play-downs (for maintenance) from 1 March or the French Cup (up to five rounds between the end of October and the end of January).
