It also turns your iPhone into a working cycling computer. For active types, the Action button (and now Double Tap) makes a big difference, offering the ability to start and stop workouts with gloves on in cold weather.
Most importantly, it’s also a great everyday wearable and is certainly technically perhaps the best smartwatch on the market right now. Thanks to the action button, Siri, Double Tap and iPhone connectivity, there are many ways to interact with the watch, allowing it to adapt to any lifestyle.
The downside? The Ultra 2 only lasts two days compared to hours of serious activity, and if I were going on an activity trip with fewer charging opportunities, I’d take the Garmin for convenience.
But as compensation for this lack of battery, you get a much more complete wearable experience. When I stopped to think about which devices I reached for the most this year, it was an easy choice for both me and TechRadar readers, even though I only used it for about four weeks.
