The Montreal Canadiens can count on Cayden Primeau to defend their goal against the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night.
That’s what Sportsnet reporter Eric Engels said a few hours before the Habs players played a second game in as many nights.

This will be Primeau’s first game of 2023-2024. The 24-year-old player took his place in the CH squad after the training camp, but was not yet prepared for a duel.
Primeau has 21 games of experience in the National Hockey League. He maintained a 3-12-2 record, a .871 save percentage and a 4.11 goals-against average.
Seventh round pick (199to The Canadian player, who was drafted into the 2017 draft, played three games with Bleu-Blanc-Rouge last year. Primeau recorded a 0.909 efficiency percentage and 3.04 goals average in 41 games in 2022-2023 in the American Hockey League with the Laval Rocket.
Since the start of this campaign, Jake Allen has made three starts while Samuel Montembeault has automatically made two starts.
