Shanghai Fashion Week announced the program of the 2024 spring-summer season at the beginning of the week.
The event, titled “Synergy”, aims to build a bridge between the past and the future with national and international talents, leading players of the industry and newcomers. The aim: to create a symbiosis between fashion, technology, sustainable development and culture.
There will be nearly a hundred fashion shows at Fashion Week, which will start on October 8. More than 1,000 brands have already planned to travel to Shanghai. There will also be themed interventions on topics such as sustainable development, women’s place in the sector and cultural heritage.
Chinese brand Icicle will start the event with its opening fashion show on the evening of October 8. It runs until October 16, when international brand Stella McCartney will present its new look for the first time in Asia-Pacific. Donottag, the brand founded by Tony Han, will take its first steps on the catwalks.
Among other highlights of the event, Haizhen Wang will celebrate its tenth anniversary of participation in Shanghai Fashion Week. Comme Moi will celebrate its tenth anniversary. Clot, the brand founded by fashion icon Edison Chen, will participate for the first time.
From October 9 to 15, already established record labels such as Private Policy, Staffonly, Judyhua, Tuyue, Hemu, Shie Lyu, Rico Lee, Xuzhi, Shushu/Tong, Wmwm, Nan Knits, Oude Waag and Yirantian will introduce their latest collections. .
Shanghai Fashion Week will once again hold a “Fashion Carnival” for the general public, which will take place during the Shanghai Fashion Weekend. Visitors will be able to attend fashion-related events such as environmentally responsible workshops, skateboarding lessons, art exhibitions and concerts.
Shanghai Fashion Week will focus on key industry challenges such as environmental and social responsibility. Kering group, one of the world’s luxury heavyweights, will hold its third Kering Generation award ceremony with the theme of sustainable development.
The event will be broadcast live in partnership with TikTok. The Fashion Week website will once again open its metaverse showroom to the public using virtual reality technology.
For the first time, the event will also partner with e-commerce platform Joor, which will feature approximately ten independent Chinese brands.
