“Our citizens are full of morale! »Marion Petit, responsible for animation, assures Austreberthe hospital center. residents nursing home from Barentin (Seine-Maritime) proved this by participating on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at a fashion week style show.
“A nursing home is a place to live, not a sad place to die! »
This is basically Marion’s idea. Within the scope of Blue Week Dedicated to the elderly. “We wanted to highlight the residents, change the image of the nursing home and open it up to people as much as possible,” he summarizes enthusiastically.
We want to show that the nursing home is a place to live, not a sad place to die. Our residents love to party!
The project of having residents parade with their families to “create a moment outside of care” immediately attracted the attention of city staff and agency staff. “It grew like a snowball,” Marion rejoices so there are 60 parades.
These include residents, relatives, children, as well as mayor Christophe Bouillon, MP Gérard Leseul and staff.
partnership work
All these beautiful people wore clothes provided by Maillon Normand, an organ of the Red Cross. “We will show that fashion has no age. Grandma’s aprons are finished! »
We chose the clothes based on their personalities. Some loved it, some found it ugly, but we adapted. We reintegrate our citizens into social life.
Everyone pitched in.. “Two staff do hair, sitters and partners take care of beauty. “This is a project that only really exists thanks to partnership work, and I thank everyone who contributed to it,” insists Marion Petit.
A great success for this day calling out to others, where everyone can see that we are definitely not bored at the Austreberthe Hospital Centre!
