As someone who experienced adolescence at an early age, I’ll be the first to admit that I love a celebrity-owned beauty line. In 2002, JLo launched Glow, a skin-like scent housed in curved frosted glass, and I practically begged my mom to buy me a bottle. She finally gave in and I was so excited to have such an adult scent. Two years later, Britney Spears dropped Curious, and you couldn’t walk past a group of teenage girls without breathing in its unmistakable fruity notes. Ads for Jessica Simpson’s edible body care brand, Dessert Beauty, were splashed across bright breaks across North America, and those bubblegum pink images are etched in my memory to this day. It comes as no surprise to anyone that these celebrity-backed beauty lines are extremely successful. They were girly and majestic.
Now it seems like every famous person on the planet has their own beauty brand. While the market is certainly oversaturated, I’m here to argue that we’ve reached the golden age of celebrity lifestyle products. We’ve moved past cloyingly sweet scents and have access to a variety of makeup, skincare and beauty products that truly reflect the celebrities who often represent them and put real thought and research into their creations. And while there are always a few bad guys in the mix (Jared Leto’s hair and skincare brand 29 Palms recently folded less than a year after its high-profile launch) it’ll be worth a fair few bucks. Here are the best of celebrities’ best beauty lines.
Brand: Victoria Beckham Beauty
Famous:
Victoria Beckham
Story:
Following the success of Victoria Beckham’s eponymous fashion brand, the former Spice Girl launched her own cosmetics line in 2019, which was equally well received. The super chic makeup and skincare products include shimmering one-pot eyeshadows, bronzing bricks, silky-tipped tints, and a luxurious moisturizer developed in partnership with cult skincare brand Augustinus Bader. The aim was to offer “a carefully selected range of products containing only items that truly add to the best of what’s available”, and so far it has been successful in every respect.
Star product:
Most of VB’s beauty products are highly rated online, but the brand’s Satin Kajal Liner stands out from the pack. In fact, the pen even has its own category on the site. With its silky, smudge-proof formula and polishing sponge attachment, it is *the* product to use to create a sexy, lived-in eye look. It’s available in classic black and brown tones, but there are also plenty of rich, shimmering jewel tones (think gold, green, quartz, and grey) that stand out.
Brand: Rhode
Celebrity behind the brand:
Hailey Bieber
Story:
Few celebrity beauty lines have garnered as much attention as Hailey Bieber’s Rhode Beauty, and that’s guaranteed. From glazed donut skin to strawberry girl makeup to cinnamon cookie butter hair, Bieber (née Baldwin) has been the face of nearly every beauty trend on the internet this year. With Rhode’s simplified skincare line, which also includes a variety of flavored lip colors, the brand manages to tap into the star’s effortless “clean girl” aesthetic, making her signature dewy glow feel both aspirational and attainable. Marketing genius? Yes. So, do the products last? Also yes.
Star product:
Although the Peptide Lip Treatment is excellent and has generated a lot of buzz thanks to a viral collaboration with Krispy Kreme, Rhode’s Peptide Glazing Fluid knocks it out of the park. Made with peptides, marula oil, and niacinamide, this lightweight gel serum brightens and hydrates skin and can also be mixed with foundation for an extra hydrated complexion.
Brand: Fenty Beauty
Famous:
Rihanna
Story:
In 2017, Rihanna broke the internet by launching Fenty Beauty and its 40-shade foundation line. Several cosmetics brands took notice and quickly followed suit, creating a domino effect that led to more inclusive skin makeup across the board. But Fenty Beauty didn’t stop there: the brand has launched not just one but several bestselling products, including the long-wearing Stunna Lip Paint, the Barbados cherry-enriched Fenty Skin line with a refillable SPF, and even the Fenty Beauty fragrance. It sold out a day after its release.
Star product:
Leave it to Rihanna to create a lip gloss that *actually* everyone will enjoy. Fenty Glow, the Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Gloss in the OG rose-peach shade, leaves lips looking glossy and full with just shimmer to catch the light without feeling overpowering. You can now use the formula in a variety of shades, including Hot Choclit, a rich brown, and Glass Slipper, a non-sticky, sheer gloss.
Brand: Florence By Mills
Famous:
Millie Bobby Brown
Story:
A brand marketed to tweens that also appeals to adults has entered the conversation. Millie Bobby Brown named Florence By Mills after her grandmother, “a woman who embraced herself and did things that made her happy throughout her life.” From fun animal-shaped pimples to under-eye patches, pH-adjusting cheek balms and crayon-like eye pencils, each product aims to spark happiness.
Star product:
Fun colors and shapes aside, when it comes to formulas, Florence By Mills No Drama Leave-In Detangling Spray ticks all the boxes: It treats split ends, conditions hair, and also acts as a heat protectant.
Brand: Keys Soulcare
Famous:
Alicia Keys
Story:
Developed in partnership with dermatologists, Alicia Keys’ Keys Soulcare line combines personal care and skin care like no other. The singer infuses each product with a sense of relaxation and wellness, with a range of sumptuous products that highlight the beauty of the ritual, including a melting body butter, a fragrant “aura mist” and a sage and oat milk scented candle. .
Star product:
While all the products mentioned above are great choices, the Daily Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 is an outstanding product. It’s a lightweight SPF that contains ingredients like squalene and niacinamide to hydrate and brighten skin. Each bottle also contains a small confirmation to say when applying the product.
Brand: Human race
Famous:
Pharrell Williams
Story:
Producer and designer Pharrell Williams might seem like an unlikely person to launch a skincare line, but the man hasn’t aged a day since he first burst onto the scene. Naturally, the public (us) demands that he break his routine. Williams, longtime dermatologist Dr. It has delivered with the arrival of Humanrace skincare, an inclusive, fragrance-free and refillable range of three products developed in collaboration with Elena Jones.
Star product:
Containing glycolic acid, fruit AHAs, and micronized rice particles, Humanrace Lotus Enzyme Exfoliator gently removes dirt and dead skin cells to keep skin fresh and ready for hydration. Follow with Moisturizing Cream, which mimics the moisture-boosting effects of tropical climates and delivers a shine that rivals Pharrell’s.
Brand: Ariana Grande
Famous:
Ariana Grande
Story:
Celebrity beauty may have moved beyond perfume launches, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still great celebrity scents being created. Not to be confused with Ariana Grande’s makeup line, REM Beauty, the singer’s eponymous fragrance label features dozens of affordable and sweet-smelling perfumes, body sprays, lotions, and scrubs.
Star product:
The most talked about scent in Ariana Grande’s perfume series is undoubtedly Cloud, which was released in 2018 and still makes a lot of noise thanks to its resemblance to a luxury perfume. It may be a little sweeter than Baccarat Rouge 540, but its warm musk notes are as comfortable as a cashmere sweater.
Brand: Kylie Cosmetics
Famous:
kylie jenner
Story:
Before Kylie Cosmetics came Kylie Lip Kits: a set of three liquid lipsticks and liner in neutral brown shades that promised to help the wearer achieve the TV star’s famous pillowy pout. Although Jenner eventually admitted that her signature lips were the result of fillers (surprise, surprise), the line was so wildly successful that it led to her controversial status as a “self-made billionaire.” The line was eventually rebranded as Kylie Cosmetics and now includes hundreds of products, including skin care (Kylie Skin), body care, and even baby care products (Kylie Baby). Fan or not, Jenner’s star power is undeniable and Kylie Cosmetics continues to grow today.
Star product:
Jenner’s Lip Kits may have started it all, but the brand’s recent launches have impressed beyond its fanbase, too. Get the latest Power Plush Longwear Concealer with a moisturizing, crease-proof formula that lasts 12 hours. It’s also available in 40 color options, allowing you to find the perfect fit.
Brand: Rare Beauty
Famous:
Selena Gomez
Story:
Rare Beauty was created by Selena Gomez to encourage conversation around self-love, and the line has been applauded by fans and beauty enthusiasts alike. The range was announced alongside the Rare Impact Fund, a mental health-focused initiative that aims to raise $100 million over the next decade, with one percent of annual Rare Beauty sales contributing to the fund.
Star product:
You can’t talk about Rare Beauty without mentioning the Soft Pinch Liquid Blush formula. This weightless, easy-to-blend blush in matte and dewy formulas was so popular that Gomez recently launched a matching lip oil that’s just as beautiful. But remember: One small dot is enough to give the entire cheek area a flushed look, so start small and work your way up.
Brand: Haus Labs
Famous:
Lady Gaga
Story:
Haus Laboratories initially started out as a fragrance startup in collaboration with beauty company Coty, spawning products like Lady Gaga’s Fame and Eau de Gaga. Later in 2019, Lady Gaga partnered with Amazon to relaunch Haus Laboratories. However, Haus Labs finally moved forward in 2022 following its relaunch with Sephora. The vegan and animal testing-free cosmetics line focuses on and delivers high-tech formulas, including a shine-enhancing lip tint and a gel-to-powder highlighter.

Gaga’s Triclone Skin Tech Medium Coverage Foundation is the definition of a makeup-skincare hybrid, containing more than 20 ingredients like fermented arnica, ginseng, and chamomile to calm skin and reduce redness. It’s also available in 51 color options, from cool to neutral to warm undertones.
